Louise Newson

Louise Newson is a GP, menopause specialist and a member of the UK Government’s Menopause Taskforce. She is passionate about increasing awareness and knowledge of the perimenopause and menopause, and campaigns for better menopause care for all women.
Dr Newson studied Medicine and Pathology at The University of Manchester. She is a member of RCP (1998), a Fellow of RCGP (2016) and a Visiting Fellow at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge University.
Described as the ‘medic who kickstarted the menopause revolution’, she is the founder of the free award-winning balance menopause support app and the balance-menopause website. She hosts the Dr Louise Newson podcast, which has been ranked the No.1 medical podcast in the UK.
She is founder of the not-for-profit company, Newson Health Research and Education, and the Newson Health Menopause Society, and has developed a menopause education programme for healthcare professionals which has been downloaded by over 32,000 clinicians globally.
She has written and contributed to many academic papers. Louise is involved in numerous research projects and works closely with various charities. Her main research interest is the role of female hormones in reducing biological ageing.
